Job Objective
As a Cloud Manager (AWS), you will report to the Principal Consultant, Cloud Services. You will oversee a team of engineers on the multicultural Cloud Operations team. You will lead your team in providing outstanding customer service for AWS Cloud Infrastructure, including optimization and configuration of customer AWS environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead team development, operational excellence, and communication.
- Establish a supportive environment for all team members.
- Work with the cloud team to operationalize service offerings and develop new service opportunities.
- Author re-usable Infrastructure-as-Code to provision complex, scalable AWS environments
- Modernize customer architecture through containerization using tools like Kubernetes, Docker, and ECS/EKS.
- Identify areas for cost savings through AutoScaling, right-sizing, and elimination of waste within the customer’s AWS environments.
- Actively engage in pre-sales presentations to promote Cloud Operations service offerings.
- Lead the development of internal documentation and the creation of standardized runbooks.
- Assist and review estimates for customer implementations, schedules, and overall planning.
- Support problem management and client escalations; lead Post-Mortem Reviews for key incidents or globally recurring incidents.
- Observe and regulate customer handoffs from Sales to Cloud Operations and ensure successful customer onboardings.
- Provide ongoing operational guidance for engineers while working with clients.
- Guarantee customer satisfaction and resolution of all service tickets within defined SLAs.
- Manage and report team key performance indicators.
- Direct team members to obtain AWS and other needed certifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in software/computer engineering or computer science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing AWS cloud workloads or similar experience.
- 2+ years of technical team management or related experience with customer-facing teams.
- Knowledge of ITIL Concepts (Incident, Major Incident, Problem, and Change).
- Experience in a technical customer support role that included planning, coordinating, problem resolution, and documentation.
- Effective communication skills (proficiency in English language).
- Self-driven, ability to work independently or as part of a project team with limited supervision.
